Nose

Bright, fresh red fruit aromas dominate this rich
wine, matching it’s punch of flavor and full-bodied texture.
Raspberry, plum, and chocolate aromas greet you as they rise from
the glass.

Palate

On the palate, this wine reveals its complex layers of red
berries, milk chocolate, and a hint of vanilla, tempting your taste
buds and sending you into pleasure overload. The 10% new French
oak provides complexity while leaving the fruit to shine as it
lingers.

Growing Conditions

The 2014 growing season was the third season of the drought. This led to severe stress on the vines and dramatic cuts in yields. Drought aside, the season was a dry, mild winter allowing the vines to get an early start in Spring. Similar to the previous season, there weren’t any memorable heat spikes. We saw small clusters and tiny berries, with heavily concentrated flavors.

West Side Ranch is located on Chimney Rock Road adjacent to the Adelaida School House. Warm, sunny days and cool evening temperatures create ideal conditions for intense aroma, flavor and acidity development in the ripening grapes.
