Palate

Year in and out our Zinfandel walks a delicate line of intense lushness and a site-driven nuance, two traits that seem mutually exclusive until you meet this wine. The 2010 Zinfandel is boisterous upfront, with striking boysenberry and berry brush character. And then delicious layers unfold – candied lavender, dried summer brush, black licorice and smooth chocolate. As the wine plays on the tongue you will find the definition of velvety tannin.

Growing Conditions

A beautifully-sloped east facing hillside at our Paderewski Vineyard is mecca for our Primitivo clone of Zinfandel.

Paderewski Vineyard:

Travel just west of Paso Robles, and you will find Paderewski Vineyard: 67 acres of undulating, steep, limestone rich hillsides within 570 rural, spring-fed acres. In the early 1900’s, this vineyard was cherished and farmed by world-renowned pianist, Polish diplomat, and vintner, Ignacy Jan Paderewski. Fast forward a century, and this property stood forgotten and fallow. Lucky for us, in 2004, we became the stewards of this amazing piece of property.
