Nose

Youthful aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry skin, with an exotic apricot quality I sometimes find in warm-climate syrah. Filled with juicy crushed berries and spice aromas with the nose offering a beautiful mix of pure, clean fruit and complex toast and spice nuances. Becomes quite spicy with air and finishes with lingering notes of cracked pepper and five-spice powder.

Palate

Deep, sappy and gently sweet, offering lush dark berry and cherry compote flavors and supple texture.

The palate is balanced and has sweet fruit and a soft, lush texture that carries into the finish.

Growing Conditions

Paderewski Vineyard:

Travel just west of Paso Robles, and you will find Paderewski Vineyard: 67 acres of undulating, steep, limestone rich hillsides within 570 rural, spring-fed acres. In the early 1900’s, this vineyard was cherished and farmed by world-renowned pianist, Polish diplomat, and vintner, Ignacy Jan Paderewski. Fast forward a century, and this property stood forgotten and fallow. Lucky for us, in 2004, we became the stewards of this amazing piece of property.
