Nose
Candied bacon, fresh raspberries, and lavender dominate a shy but highly complex nose. Shoe leather and dried figs even provide a rustic back-tone.
Palate
Velvety smooth entry, this texture is heightened by a bright and vibrant acidity. Fresh and juicy cranberry fills the palate while toasted cedar notes coat the edges. Finishes smooth and flavorful, laying this one down is sure to show true beauty in age.
Growing Conditions
This Syrah from the Willow Creek District sits high atop a hill, overlooking the lower, rolling hills below it. The vines are exposed on a south west facing slope with deep and thick soils of granite and limestone.
Winemaking
Co-fermented with Viognier grapes, grown from the same vineyard, this Syrah is deeply colored with savory and delicately fresh fruit aromas and flavors. French Oak Barriques (30% New)
