Nose
Aromas of crisp honeydew melon, white peaches, and granny smith apples diffuse from the glass along with sharper tones of lemons and green mandarins.
Palate
The palate is weighty and succulent up front allowing for expressive flavors of limoncello, lychee, and banana cream followed by more refreshing notes of key lime and fresh pineapple. The acidity builds and layers into a mouthwatering backbone that finishes short and refreshing.
Growing Conditions
When searching for Viognier, we wanted a site with enough acidity to balance the weighty body that Viognier carries. We found the perfect match in the limestone rich soils of the Willow Creek District of Paso Robles, known for impeccable acid retention in the grapes. The vines are precariously situated in terraced rows on an immensely steep, north facing slope. Upon first glance, we knew these vines would produce an exemplary wine.
