Growing Conditions
Glenrose Vineyard - The grapes used to make this reserve Nebbiolo were farmed by Don Rose and Travis Kottwitz on Paso Robles’ acclaimed Glenrose Vineyard. The Ridgeline block where this wine is sourced from is composed of a small number of long, steep, terraced rows going down the hillside of the estate.
Winemaking
The Glenrose Vineyard Nebbiolo was fermented and macerated on skins for 22 days. This fermentation occurred in an enclosed 3-ton stainless steel tank that was pumped over twice daily, using a venturi aerator as needed to manage the oxygen demand of the ferment. Cool glycol was used to keep the peak fermentation temperature below 85 F and warm glycol was used to obtain full extraction from the grape skins during extended maceration.
Aging
Aged in neutral French oak barriques and once-used 500L French oak puncheon for 20 months prior to bottling.
