Palate

The blend exhibits dark intense ripe fruit and a floral bouquet with a hint of sage. A juicy wine with flavors of black currant, strawberry, blackberry, and cherry cola. Tannins are mellow and smooth, followed by leather, vanilla and toasted oak.

Growing Conditions

The Wanderlust is a Rhone varietal blend from Paso Robles vineyards. The Grenache and
Syrah are grown in the Pomar District at an elevation of 1500 feet on the Carraige Vineyard
characterized by white limestone soils and well drained steep northwest facing hillsides. The
Onx Estate Mourvedre comes from a south west facing river bench vineyard in the Templeton
Gap district, This district is considerably cooler than the other districts in the AVA and
characterized by the most drastic daytime to night time temperature swings; up to 50 degrees
from peak to low warm days and cool nights.

Harvest

The fruit was harvested at approximately 26.5
degrees brix, cold macerated and was allowed to ferment using wild as well as specialized
yeast isolated from the Rhone valley.

Winemaking

The fruit was harvested, cold macerated, and whole
berry fermented for 30 days. The lots were aged in fine grain French oak barrels and
puncheons for 15 months.
